Langar Hall Construction Fund (GoFundMe)
Guru Nanak Foundation of Tidewater has gone through several delays in the past two years but finally were able to have a groundbreaking ceremony and begin construction of our “Sikh Temple” / Gurudwara’s langar “dining” hall. It was serendipitous to have the groundbreaking fall during this year’s Gurupurab, as it marked the 550th Prakash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Additionally, we will be able to provide living quarters for our Giani Ji.
With that, we’re reaching out to our sadh sangat and supporters to help contribute towards the building fund. With a small but devout community, any and all support would make an immense impact towards the loan taken to help build the langar hall for our sangat.

It is with profound sadness and deep gratitude that, due to complications from a stroke, we share the news that our mother, Jagdish A. Singh, peacefully returned to paradise. She was surrounded by her beloved family.
In her 83 years, she saw the nation of her birth breath free and the nation that became her home strive and struggle to fulfill freedom’s promise for all its people.
Lady Jay, as she was affectionately known, championed human rights, was a highly respected leader in the Hampton Roads community and a devout Sikh. She called her home on Ashland Drive the “Global Village” because all were welcomed there with a cup of tea and a home-cooked meal.
Just as she ended every letter with, “always a friend,” we honored her wishes to depart the Global Village with a final prayer and festooned in her wedding sari with gardenias plucked from her garden.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Jagdish A Singh Gurdwara Fund by clicking on the Paypal Donate Button below.
